Concept
The title of my collage is Red Planet. Which is inspired my personal interests and some of the things that bring me inner peace such as the nature and for that I added the mountain, lake and the enlarged sunflower which is a representation of adoration, loyalty and the longing desire to seek inner light and truth. I also love them because of their resemblance to the sun which is who I am, quiet energy, influence and strength.
My colourful and deep (child-like) imagination, has created for an extremely curious mind which is represented by the UFO, Egyptian statue and the multi-layered sky with the earth behind the moon and the sun in a different direction.

Techniques
Creating a surreal collage is a very layered process which requires a number of techniques. During my process I used cutting and removing backgrounds using the Magic Wand and Quick Selection tools. One other technique I used was the brightness/contrast, levels, Hue/Saturation and Colour Balance adjustments to colour correct the images so that they fit together. It is very important to make sure there’s synergy throughout the collage and that’s why I used Add Noise filter on each image to get a sense of unity in the entire collage and also added a texture layer along with a blending mode just to also add onto the unity element.
